The PhD Career Pathways program supports organizations interested in leveraging Ph.D. talent in public art and humanities, community outreach, program evaluation, writing, editing and more.
Doctoral students in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences are matched with projects scoped for 9 months at 10 hours per week.

Program Structure
Pathways Fellows are hired directly by selected Pathways organizations to work in either hybrid or remote roles for up to 10 hours per week. Organizations are responsible for employing fellows over 9 months for this work at a rate of $8,000.
Pathways operates on a cohort model. The Office of Career and Life Design supports the professional growth of the student for the duration of the fellowship with a monthly career seminars and an assigned career coach. Fellows are awarded a $2,000 professional development award by The University of Texas at Austin for participation in the cohort.
Selection Process
The Office of Career & Life Design sources candidates across campus through a competitive application process. Organizations interview the top candidates for their project, so their feedback is incorporated into the final decision.
