Shamecca Perkins is a PhD candidate in educational psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in human development, culture and learning sciences. Her research explores how Black undergraduates navigate campus racial climates and cultivate belonging, community and well-being.
With a master’s degree in quantitative methods and experience in educational research and program evaluation, Shamecca brings a commitment to connecting research with practice. Shamecca is excited to help ensure OCLD’s efforts are meaningful, aligned with graduate students’ needs, and impactful as her fellow graduate students prepare to enter a rapidly changing workforce.
