Graduate Consultant for First-Generation Programming

As a graduate consultant for First-Generation Programming, Kate works closely with the Office of Career & Life Design (OCLD) team to deliver First Generation programming, events and content. Her work with OCLD is supported by a PhD Career Pathways Fellowship.
Currently finishing her Ph.D. in French studies, Kate brings years of higher education and program management experience. Previous to arriving at UT, she earned a M.A. in French and Francophone studies from California State University Long Beach and a BFA in film production from Chapman University. She has spent over a decade as an instructor and is nationally recognized for her pedagogy research. Her project management experience comes from previous roles as a language lab director and founder of large programs, such as a pedagogy workshop series and summer study abroad program. When Kate is not writing, teaching or managing projects, she enjoys spending time outside, especially swimming and hiking.
