Jingwen Wu is a PhD candidate in government at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research examines how digital technologies shape political behavior, state strategy and governance, with a particular focus on China and East Asia. Her dissertation investigates how governments strategically manage the expansion and regulation of digital technologies in response to political risks. Her broader research interests include digital inequality, gender and political participation, and emerging questions in AI governance. Her work has appeared in Asian Survey and the Journal of Peace Research. Outside of work, she enjoys running.
