Communication Rhetoric
Digital Content, Fundraising & Social Media Strategist, I’m From Driftwood

Eleni Mercer is a Communication Rhetoric scholar at the Moody College of Communication whose work sits at the intersection of lived transgender realities and rhetorical studies. He observes the ways in which legislative discourse shapes our understanding of transness. His research also explores queer and trans forms of resistance, but more specifically the political (im)possibilities of embracing deviance, transgressive activism, and embodied experience. In the future, Eleni hopes to work directly with queer and trans people, interacting with their stories and the ways legislation continues to shape our daily lives.
