Angela is a PhD candidate in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, with a focus on Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Her research interests include the development of bilingualism, biculturalism, and biliteracy of children of immigrants to the United States and the bilingual teacher pipeline. As a former elementary bilingual teacher and the daughter of immigrants from the Philippines and Colombia, Angela is dedicated to improving the quality of and access to bilingual and multicultural education for all children, especially those in minoritized communities.
